Some of my earlier work in Unreal Engine 4. All models were made from scratch in 3DS Max and materials were made using Substance Painter and Substance Designer. All environmental pieces are modular and utilize Blueprints to improve optimization and ease of use.
Blueprint Level Prototype: UE4
A level prototype made in Unreal Engine using Blueprints. This video is not an artistic piece. It is a technical showcase utilizing UE4's Blueprint system to create a simple game level. It's something I decided to do for fun, inspired by my favorite game.
Project MPR: A fan made remaster of Metroid Prime [wip]
A fun non-commercial fan project I work on alongside a small team of which I am a Lead Artist. I work on developing specific tools for creating materials/textures and a pipeline for other artists on the team. I also work on overhauling and remastering the lighting in game with HD lightmaps baked using Blender Cycles, new dynamic lights injected through the emulator and skyboxes for various levels made using HDRis and Substance Painter. Project MPR is a mod for Metroid Prime similar to how we have mods for other games like Skyrim and Fallout. It utilizes a fork of an open-source emulator called Dolphin through which an improved dynamic lighting system and material system are incorporated. The plugin for baking HD lightmaps in Blender is provided by another open-source project known as Metaforce, which is a complete decompilation of Metroid Prime's engine.
